About

My name is Robert Elliott and I was born and raised in British Columbia with an involvement in the building trades from an early age. My father was a talented carpenter/builder and I often assisted him on weekends while he worked on renovation projects. By the time I was 17 years of age I was working full time in construction industry, learning the trade of carpentry. My experience and training has encompassed building single family homes through the construction of multi faceted structures. My training and work in the construction industry spanned from the early 70’s until the early 90’s. After which time I attend Private Bonner College and studied Psychiatric Illness, in addition I attended Douglas College studying Psychology and Behavioural Management.

Upon graduation I went to work in the health care field; assisting, training and mentoring physically and mentally challenged men and women through life skills, education and independent living. In the early 2000’s I went back into the construction industry and restored a heritage building in my area, overseeing the reconstruction. During which time I trained and employed long term offenders whom had been recently released from Canada Corrections.

My work since the early 2000’s has consisted of running a general contracting business, (Dreamweavers Custom Woodworking Ltd.) teaching, and mentoring offenders’ and other individuals experiencing substance abuse issues. I have counselled and consulted in the following areas; Teaching life skills, coping and negative behaviours, upgrading for schooling requirements, and behavioural management.

On a personal note I enjoy travelling to the Far East, learning about different cultures and expanding my business knowledge with endless possibilities. I continue to enjoy exploring my home province of British Columbia while touring on my motorcycle and spending valued time with my friends and loved ones.

A few of the Charities I support on a continuum is:

  • Whole Dyslexia Society
  • SPCA
  • World Vision

I enjoy volunteering with various outreach groups in the lower mainland. My belief is to never stop learning and to give the best I can to my ability always.
